The Private Security Governance Challenges and the Relevance of International Norms and Best Practices: Capacity Building Workshop for CSOs and Media

AFRILAW convened the capacity building workshop for CSOs and media with the theme: “private security governance challenges and the relevance of International norms and best practices” in November the 16th, 2021 at the Madam Janet Hall, Topview Hotel, Abuja.

This was developed to empower a strong and informed civil society and media:  with the aim of providing them with updated information on the various challenges linked with monitoring and reporting human right abuses linked with private security companies’ operations in Nigeria, and also to bring to their notice how to incorporate gender within the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of private security regulation.

The key goal is to have a stronger CSO group engaging with other stakeholders in the industry to ensure that human right issues are effectively factored into all discussions in the industry at all levels.
